The 49-year-old actor was found guilty by a sessions court recently of ramming his car into a Bandra shop killing one and injuring many.Salman Khan's lawyer arguing in the case said that there was no evidence to show that the death of the victim of the the 2002 hit-and-run case was due to the accident.

He expressed doubt that the death was caused due to the car falling on the victim while being lifted by the hook of the crane.To be precise, the lawyer of superstar argued that after the car rammed onto the pavement, a crane was brought to lift the car.

When the crane lifted the car, the car crashed down and hit the victims hard and crushing them to death. It means the victms were alive before the crane has brought.He also said that police had failed to examine the finger-prints from the steering wheel of his vehicle.

Amit Desai brought this point while arguing for Salman's appeal against the five-year jail term awarded to him on 6 May.Salman Khan was convicted on charges of culpable homicide, not amounting to murder, in the 2002 hit-and-run case.
