Shankar using FLOP Technology for Robo 2
Motion Capture Technology was quite popular in India during the making of 'Vikram Simha' directed by Soundarya Rajinikanth. However, The end result was something Superstar willn't be proud of and hence no maker dared to use such a technology again in India.
A year later, Ace Filmmaker Shankar decided to make 'Robo 2' using the same Motion Capture Technology. The mammoth budget of Rs 250 crore has given an opportunity for Shankar to shoot the entire film in 3D. In particular, A major portion of the film will be shot in 3D Motion Capture Technology which was earlier used in films such as Avatar, Tintin and Vikram Simha. The shoot will happen at a prestigious studio in Hollywood. 'Robo 2' is being produced by LYCA International which earlier produced Vijay-Murugadoss's 'Kaththi'. AR Rahman, Srinivas Mohan, T Muthuraj and Antony will handle Music, VFX Supervisor, Art Director and Editor roles respectively.
Sources say, Shankar have plans to use the Motion Capture Technology for 'Robo 3' as well.
