Nirnaayakam Review
After a gap of one and half years; director VK Prakash (VKP) strike with a Asif Ali starrer movie this time, Nirnaayakam.
Scripted by Bobby – Sanjay; the film, which sees Asif Ali and Malavika Mohan in leads; is a social thriller movie; which talks about the violation of human rights happening to a man.
Ajay (Asif Ali) was a student of National Defence Academy; who couldn’t complete his course due to his shyness and scary character. He is living with his mother (Tisca Chopra) and is having a love relation with Saral (Malavika Mohan).
He was happened to arrive in Kochi; when his father Siddharth Shankar (Prem Prakash); who left him at the age of five; got a bad health condition due to blood cancer. Arrived on Kochi; Ajay realises of a certain case, which his father is currently engaged.
Rest of the story deals with certain incidents; Ajay has to face; which makes him a stronger man to face the humiliation he witnesses.
Asif Ali has delivered a good performance in the movie; with a challenging character, which he got a chance to perform well. The film has delivered a ever remembering character in the actor’s life.
Malavika Mohan look pretty good as a leading actress; portraying a well supported character to the lead role.
Nedumudi Venu, who came with the role of a common man; has delivered the character in a good manner;
Prem Prakash got a breakthrough role as Advocate Siddharth Shankar look pretty awesome in the movie; indicating signs that the actor is not well utilised by M-Town yet.
Tisca Chopra, who handled the role of Ajay’s mother and Lena as an advocate; has done their part well, along with the other supporting characters by Rizabava, Saiju Kurup, Sanusha, Shankar Ramakrishnan, etc.
VKP has done a great comeback to the industry; as the directional part, including the cast selection appears good in the movie. The experienced one, succeeded in delivering a thriller story with its depths to the audience.
Script by Bobby – Sanjay duo focused on relationship more rather than trying to tell as a typical thriller movie; making the film interesting to all type of audience. The concept of violation of human rights; the one that provided by our constitution; was a good aspect in the film.
Shehnad Jalal’s cinematography and Mahesh Narayanan’s editing kept its standards; along with the standard BGM by Ouseppachan and a good music by M Jayachandran.
In short, Nirnaayakam stands as another great work from Bobby – Sanjay duo; which posses the fire of a socially important theme; standing as a memorable one in Asif Ali’s career.
