Kamal Haasan as Suyambu Lingam is an orphan who had dropped out of school after the fourth grade. Now he is a businessman running a cable TV service in a rural area. He is married to Gautami as Lingam's Wife and they have two daughters, a Plus Two student, and a student of class sixth.
His only interest apart from his family is watching films. He spends most of his time in front of the TV in his small office. During a nature camp, The elder girl gets photographed in the bathroom by a hidden cell phone. The man who took that he is the son of police inspector general ,one he gone to Lingam's house and threatening the family but the time Lingam is not there,in this time the man is accidentally killed by Lingam's wife and her daughter when he comes to blackmail them.
They hide his body in a compost pit, which is witnessed by the girls. Lingam's wife tells Lingam about the incident and he devises a way to save his family from the law.The rest of the story tells how Lingam saving his family brilliantly from the law..
