The filmmaking too is strictly serviceable; there’s no distinct voice or directorial signature to be spotted anywhere. The makers fail to create a wholly believable world or provide a convincing slice of life in a Mumbai chawl. At less than two hours though, the film is never a slog. There was potential here to create a compelling drama about the dark secrets that ordinary folk bury out of sight. But at best it’s a half-baked experiment with a few shining moments. The multi-story format isn’t novel – we’ve seen it both locally in films like Mani Ratnam’s Yuva and internationally, in classics like Alejandro Iñárritu’s Amores Perros. So the surprise has to come from the stories but the plots, except for the first, don’t deliver. The film doesn’t have the sparkle of Sai Paranjpye’s Katha, also about several characters living in a Mumbai chawl. Or the sting of the Oscar-nominated Wild Tales, six short stories about how people behave in extreme circumstances. This isn’t a film that lacks ambition but it never becomes one that is essential.Visit Site For More

Towards the end of the film, the narrator asserts that duniya ki tarah kahani chalti rehti hai (like the world at large, stories never stop) and that there is no such thing as "a perfect end". Point well taken, but considering all the beginnings and endings, comings and goings, and hopes and setbacks that constitute 3 Storeys, the film could have done with a stronger culmination. It meanders to a close, leaving the audience more flummoxed than intrigued.Visit Site For More

Everyone plays it quite competently, despite the predictable beats. Nice to see Shahane, who aims for naturalness despite some stodginess in the way her part is written. And I always enjoy Sharman Joshi, and wonder why this terrific actor doesn’t get more work in the movies.Visit Site For More
