Spectre 007 Highest Weekend At India Box Office
The latest installment of the Bond series, Spectre managed opened to excellent numbers in India. The film which started off with paid previews on Thursday collected 2.26 crores from it. Further, the film collected 6.14 crores on Friday, 7.28 crores on Saturday and 7.82 on Sunday. Spectre now stands with a collection of 23.50 crores nett at the India box office and 31.9 crore gross.
Spectre released in 1250 screens (the largest 2D Hollywood release ever) in four languages – English, Hindi, Tamil and Telugu – and in 2D and IMAX formats. It is the first film to release in India in five IMAX screens.
The film which reprised Daniel Craig as James Bond was his fourth film with the franchise. His last film, Skyfall had managed a collection of 45 crores lifetime in India. C
onsidering that the film received mixed reviews from critics, the footfalls definitely showed a decent word of mouth. It was competing with the Bollywood’s Prem Ratan Dhan Payo which was currently in it’s second weekend.
