Shandaar Budget & Friday ( Day 2) Box Office Collection : Crashes

Shaandaar Box Office Collection

Shandaar Budget & Friday ( Day 2) Box Office Collection
Shaandaar
Shaandaar  directed by Vikas Bhal and starring Shahid Kapoor and Alia Bhatt crashed on day 2 at india box office.

The second day box office collections are:
7.55 Crore Producer Figure
7.07 Crore as per Trade Figure.

Total till date:
20.65 Crore Producer Figure
18.78 Crore Trade Figure.

Drop between first day and second is 35-40%  which is very high despite day 1 being a holiday.

First Day :
11.71 Crore Trade Figure.
13.1 Crore Producer Figure

Screens:
2500 all India.

Being a working day it was expected that movie will go down but Shandaar  has fallen much more than expected.

Shaandaar was a multiplex targeted movie and has struggled completely in single screens but even multiplexes have under performed.

Though on Saturday and sunday movie can improve still a poor friday and a below par opening day means that going will be difficult for Shandaar.

Shaandar has remained the best in top cities Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore but has been average in other cites while has been poor outside of cities.

Word of Mouth is not good for Shaandaar which means post Monday going will be tough for the movie.

Post Dusshera the  Pre Diwali starts which is not considered a good phase for any movie and is the same for Shaandar.

Budget: 68 Crores inclusive of prints and advertising.

Shaandar has been sold by Phantom again to Fox Star who have bought at a based price of 48 Crores.

Fox Star has themselves spent 20 crores on prints and advertising.

Fox Star has booked satellite and music rights for Rs 27 crores but it need s to cover the remaining cost

It needs a distributor share of 38 crore or box office collections of 76 crore to be called a hit

Shaandaar had a much higher budget which is around 3 times higher than that of Vikas Bahl's last Queen.

Queen's success had happened because of the low budget but Phantom is a mega budget movie

Records:
1.)  This is the highest ever opening day in Shahid Kapoor's career and is the first time he had gotten a double digit opening  day. His previous highest was  R Rajkumar with Rs 9.47 Crore.
