Naanu Avanalla Avalu kannada movie directed by BS Lingadevaru featuring Sanchari Vijay is a tribute to everyone whose everyday life is a struggle. The movie is themed on a transgender, who is destined to have a life of utter neglect and disappointments.
Naanu Avanalla Avalu (I am not he…she), based on I am Vidya — an autobiography of Living Smile Vidyais an authentic work on the life of transgenders. Dr. Tamil Selvi translated I am Vidya, while it was supported by noted film makers Girish Kasaravalli, P. Sheshadri, writers Gopalakrishna Pai and Manu Chakravarthi.
With nearly 150 plus transgenders, the movie was shot in various locations to capture live moments. BS Lingadevaru took much care to ensure that the docudrama describing style does not acquire the nature of a documentary.
Sanchari Vijay, who played the role of a transgender, who is destined to live a life of utter neglect, won the national award for Best Actor. He portrayed a woman trapped in a man's body with agility.
