Teen Taal is an upcoming Hindi feature film

‘Teen Taal’ is an upcoming Hindi feature film, based on the true story of a classical Tabla player, ‘Attar Singh Chowdhary’. Written, Produced & Directed by new filmmaker, Shakirul Alam from England; he has teamed up with new Executive Producer, Jahangir Jaz Ali (also from the UK) to finance this very original feature.

Set completely in the heart of Delhi, the inspiring story intercuts between two eras; the 70’s and the present day. Attar’s real son, ‘Gaurav Chowdhary’ will be seen in the lead, playing two roles; his own character and also Attar’s character. (Gaurav is a professional Tabla player and trained actor from ‘Kishore Namit Kapoor’ academy, Mumbai).

Attar had faced many struggles (including a heart condition) in life to spread his music style and the art of living. ‘Teen Taal’ has beautifully captured Attar’s difficult journey from his early days, all the way up to his last moments. Gaurav will be seen depicting his father’s unfortunate hardships, showing how he had struggled to take classical music forward, leaving behind an unfinished dream. It is then Gaurav who goes on his own breath-taking journey to finish what his father was not able to do. Gaurav’s elder brother, Ravi Shankar will also been seen in the film, with Shakirul also in a vital supporting role (Shakirul is a trained actor from Anupam Kher’s acting academy, London).

A new lead actress, Neha Kargeti will be seen in the role of Attar’s wife, Kanta Devi. With the supporting cast and crew also from Delhi, the music and post-production team have also come together from Mumbai and England. ‘Teen Taal’ promises to be the first of its kind; a very unique movie with stunning Cinematography, heart touching music and inspiring messages for everyone. With talks being finalised for the release across India, we welcome this new team into the industry and look forward to this film hitting the theatres in 2015.
