Story:

Naaigal Jaakirathai story revolves around a Belgian Shepherd dog named Subramani (Idoh). Idoh is the film’s central attraction. One day Subramani (Idoh) is transported to Coimbatore from an army camp in Kashmir. A military officer gives shelter to Idoh in his home. Sibiraj, who plays a police officer, is asked to look after the dog for few days since the military officer travels outstation.

Sibiraj gets impressed when the training officers explain Idoh’s potential and how helpful it could be in identifying crime scenes. An interesting turn takes place when Sibiraj’s wife played by Arundhati gets kidnapped and Sibiraj has to find her within time period to save her life. How Sibiraj finds her wife with the help of Idoh forms the rest of the story.

Artistes’ performance:

Sibiraj gave his best performance in this film. The dog (Idoh) and Sibiraj has equally challenging parts in this film. Arundhati looks beautiful. Remaining cast of the film is good in their respective roles.

Plus Points:

The relationship between Sibiraj and Idoh looks naturally on screen before an interesting turn of events. Background score is good.

Minus Points:

The story becomes predictable in the second half and the human part of the story lacks in the second half.

Analysis:

Director Shakti Soundar Rajan did a good job and he depicted a good relationship between a man and his dog realistically. First half of the film is nicely made. Second half moves at a good pace compared to the first half.

Verdict:

Must watch Naaigal Jaakirathai… Thumbs up to director Shakti Soundar Rajan! For making a movie on the relationship between man and dog.
